March Field Trip - Burro Creek led by Linda Chandler

Field Trip to Burro Creek MARCH 7, 8, 9, and ?, 2008

I will meet everyone at the Burro Creek camp ground at 8:30 AM on the morning of the 7th of March.

We will be heading out at 9 A M for the Bagdad area. There’s some very interesting rock over in that area. We will possibly take a side trip, so please plan your gas tank appropriate.

You will need the usual equipment, bags, hammers, lunch, water, and of course BUG spray. Last year in April I got attacked by No-see-ums at the camp ground. Since we’re a month earlier this year hopefully they won’t be so prolific .

Directions to the camp ground, well you can find it on your favorite search engine, or I can tell you it’s 53 miles from the exchange of I40 and Interstate 93. 93 is about 17 miles above Kingman, go south on 93. Once you get to Wikiup (your last gas stop) it’s about another 10 to 15 miles. (Could find anything on that in my time frame.)

You will pass several deep canyons on high bridges, when you come to the deepest one watch for the camp ground sign on your right. This will be about 1 mile past the bridge.
It’s another 1 ½ miles down to the camp ground.

I haven’t talked to Buck. Not sure what his plans are for this trip, but would welcome any new areas he may have found.

Plan on 300 plus miles for these three plus days and a great time!

See you on the 7th of March.
