Very Short Field Report
Thank you very much Mike for sending the pictures!
Today, 24 rock hounds and seven rock doggies went rockhounding to McCracken Mine. I've received one picture from Bob! I hope they found more than this guy!
It's a go!
Bob just called me and they have decided the Field Trip today is a go. Meet at Terrible's Chevron Station at I-40 and 95 South (Lake havasu road) in time to depart for McCracken at 8:30 AM MST (AZ), 7:30 AM PST (CA).
Thanks and have an awesome day!

NEWS FLASH Field Trip Saturday
Hey folks...just got a call and there is some rainy weather coming in Friday night. We will post at 7 AM Arizona time whether the rock trip to McCracken is a go. Please stay tuned and check your email and blog at seven or a little before on Saturday morning. When I get the call, I'll post. Sally
I just copied this from NOAA Weather:
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY
A PACIFIC STORM IS EXPECTED TO MOVE INTO SOUTHEAST CALIFORNIA
FRIDAY NIGHT THEN ACROSS SOUTHERN NEVADA AND NORTHWEST ARIZONA
SATURDAY. THE MAIN HAZARD WITH THIS STORM WILL BE THE POTENTIAL
FOR SEVERAL INCHES OF SNOW ACCUMULATION AT ELEVATIONS ABOVE 5000
FEET ON SATURDAY... ESPECIALLY FOR THE MOUNTAINS OF SOUTHERN
NEVADA AND NORTHWEST ARIZONA. AN UNSETTLED WEATHER PATTERN WILL
REMAIN OVER THE REGION SUNDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY BUT CONFIDENCE IS
LOW ON THE DETAILS OF SIGNIFICANT IMPACTS FOR ANY PARTICULAR DAY.

Field Trip Saturday February 20 - McCracken Mine area
One of my personal favorite trips is being led by Allan Reed. We are to meet at Terribles Chevron Station which is located off I-40 and 95 South (road to Lake Havasu) at 8 AM local (that means ARIZONA) time, to depart at 8:30. The pre-runners indicated 4WD might not be necessary but your vehicles need to be high clearance. For what it is worth, I would not go without 4WD.
Last night's NGMC meeting was awesome! Thank you Linda and Ann for the fantastic refreshments! WOW. And the silent auction was fun, fun and did I mention, FUN. Plus it raised quite a bit of money for the Club.
Just so you all know...time change just around the corner!
BTW, for your information, time changes to daylight saving time at 2 AM the second Sunday of March (14) and reverts back to standard time the first Sunday of November (7). Just thought you'd want to know!!!!
