Field Trip Jan 24 Oscar Jasper
Today 11 NGMC members, two guests, and four rock hound dogs in five vehicles traveled to Oscar Jasper. Allan Reed led a fantastic field trip. Thank you Allan!

Field Trip Saturday January 24, 2009
The Field Trip for Saturday January 24, 2009 will be to Oscar's Jasper. Allan Reed is leading this trip, so if you have any questions, feel free to call him (928) 763-3511. The group should meet at I-40 (CA) and Water Road on the north side of the Interstate. Be there in time to depart at 9AM Pacific Time. Allan said we're going for Oscar's Jasper and he may also have some new sites in that area to collect.

Field Trip Report Saturday 10th
Saturday January 10 Field trip. We have a great trip with 18 people and two dogs attending. We stopped at three different sites and explored the hills near the road. Everyone seem to get their bag filled and had smiles on their faces. There was a variety of material. One surprise for Linda was the gold and yellow Jasper not previously seen out in that area. She found a large boulder of this material. Thanks Bob for carrying it back to the car. The last place we went was heavily washed out and we ended up going another two miles and finding some nice multi colored rock. It was a beautiful day and the scenery in that area is some of the best in Arizona. Report and photos courtesy of Linda. Thanks!

Several members have told me what a great field trip Linda led on Saturday. I am anxiously waiting for pictures and a report! Not official, but someone said there were 25 people, five dogs and ten cars. An awesome, very long day!

Bridget Sporre broke her ankle (I think it was to have mutual sympathy with Bernie) But both of you get well SOON and get back with the group!

Field trip Saturday Jan 10
Just got the info about two seconds ago for the field trip on Saturday which is being led by Linda. If you have any specific questions you may call Linda at 928-855-6174.
Meet at 8:30 AM AZ time at the Chevron station (right next to the Pilot at the Lake Havasu exit off I-40.) Plan on being gone six to eight hours. Bring the normal rock hound "stuff". Looking for barite jasper and sagenite jasper.
