Just some reminders and an update about our Monday December 21 Business meeting and pot luck, at 5 PM Pacific Time. As most of you know, Myrna has had surgery and is very ill. We sold some of her rock collection, which helped a great deal. At the Christmas party pot luck, bring some non-perishable items you can donate to help her! (I'm going to clean out my pantry and laundry room)!
Also, ham will be the main dish, so keep that in mind with your sides.
Don't forget the Olde Time Christmas parade and venders. Needle Gem and Mineral Club will have a booth set up and we'll be cutting geodes. Date for this is Saturday December 5, 2009. Booths open about 10 (Pacific Time) so call Jim R to see when he wants you there to help.
Saturday December 12 will be Mike S's field trip. Meet at the Arco station, corner of Courtright and Hwy 95 at 9 AM Arizona Time.

What you missed at the business meeting last night!
I am going to start with last part of the meeting and work forward! Hope that is okay with all you rock hounds!
Our program was seeing what all our very talented members brought for "show and tell". It was phenomenal! Please excuse me if I missed anyone here, but Mike S, Bernie S, Jim P, Linda C, Kathy S brought in incredible items they have made with rocks! Thanks guys and girls!
The slate of officers and committees for year 2010 was presented! What a year we are going to have!
Barb and Gisela brought fantastic refreshments!
Our next event is the Needles Christmas event on Saturday December 5. Please keep checking the Blog for updates on when, where and what to bring. We will be doing exactly the same as Peddler's Fair. Jim R will be in charge, so let him know what you can do. Update from Needles Desert Star: " Plans are being made for the 15th annual Olde Fashioned Christmas Party and Lighted Parade to be held on Saturday, Dec. 5. Co-sponsored by the Needles Chamber of Commerce and the city of Needles, the event is to begin at 10 a.m. PST along Broadway in historic downtown Needles".
Next is our December Field Trip, December 12. Mike is leading this trip...meet at 9 AM (MST) LOCAL time at the ARCO station, corner of Courtright and Hwy 95 in Arizona. Our collecting spot is about fifteen minutes from there.
Our Christmas Pot Luck will be combined with our very short business meeting on December 21. We are starting an hour early so we have time to do a very short meeting, eat and do the Chinese Auction. Bring a gift to share in the auction...rock related or purchased for under $5.00. We plan to start at 5 PM PST (CA) or 6 PM MST (AZ). Ann asked that the board meet 30 minutes before so that would be 4:30/5:30 for board members.

Tonight is the regular business meeting at the usual place at 6 PM Pacific time, The Board will meet 30 minutes earlier. Hope to see all of you there!
Couple of notes, 2010 membership dues ($15 per person) are due at this meeting, and the Nominating Committee will announce the slate of officers to be voted upon at the December 2009 meeting and Christmas Pot Luck.
At the last meeting the Vice President Allan asked that everyone bring something to share with the group that has been accomplished with rocks we've found. We ARE talented...let's share, let's show what can be done.

Burro Creek Field Trip
11/13-15/2009 - Burro Creek – Meet Saturday 9 AM Burro Creek Crossing Road and Hwy 93. Camping at BLM Camp Ground. Call Bob for details.
I think most of the members who are going to camp are traveling to the Burro Creek area on Friday November 13. Leisurely trip to get there and set up camp at the BLM Camp Ground. Saturday Morning the entire group will meet at Hwy 93 and Burro Creek Crossing Road. I will find the mile markers and post them later.
