First and foremost, let Bob know whether you will:
1 – be travelling to Ludlow,
2 – coming in early Friday,
3 - spending the night Friday and/or Saturday.
If he does not know you will be there, especially Friday, he will not be there!
Campsite will be the gravel pit area once again. Take exit 50 at Ludlow, go north and turn left (west) onto Rt 66. It is a frontage road, if you leave the pavement, you went too far. You will travel about 2.5 miles (4 Kilometers) to the gravel pit. The first one there gets to select where we will circle the wagons.
If you don’t want to stay in a tent or drag your trailer you can make reservations for the Ludlow Motel by contacting the Ludlow Chevron listed below. I called a little bit at about 1715 (515PM) and they had no reservations. There are 10 rooms available. Here is a link with some comments from people who have stayed there. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g60902-d643415-Reviews-Ludlow_Motel-Barstow_California.html

Friday…surprise for those arriving early. We will meet across from the Dairy Queen at 12:00 for a short trip. See comment above about early arrivals.
Saturday…we will meet across from the Dairy Queen at 0900 (AM) and go south for some chrysocolla and malachite. We will return north and visit some new spots, material to be displayed at the next meeting. We will finish up in the lavic siding area before returning to the camp site.
Sunday – open, depending upon where everyone wants to go. Have some info on a couple of newer areas as well as some of the tried and true.
